Audio/Visual Technicians
There is much work done each week behind the scenes to set up and monitor the sound for worship and music activities.
Benevolence
The benevolence ministry involves providing meals, light housekeeping, temporary babysitting, and transportation to and from appointment for fellow church members in time of need due to illness, recovery from surgery, death in the family, or birth in the family.
Bus Ministry
At Bethel, we strive to remove any obstacles that could keep someone from being able to come worship with us. On Sunday mornings we provide transportation to families through our Bus Ministry. We are always looking for more drivers and helpers to assist in this transportation service.
Caleb’s Kin
Caleb’s Kin is a unique senior citizen’s ministry that meets every Tuesday morning at 10:30. The goal for this ministry is the evangelization and edification of senior citizens in the Chicagoland area. This ministry would include decorating our dining room, cooking and serving the meals, visiting, and assisting the seniors on our various trips.
Chair Crew
In preparation for our Sunday schools, chairs have to be set up in the various classrooms spread across Bethel Baptist Ministries facilities.
Children’s Ministries
There are many opportunities at Bethel to praise the works of God to the next generation. On Sunday mornings, teachers and helpers lead the children in Sunday school classes and a children’s church service. During the midweek service, the children are led in a Wednesday Night Kids Club. During the summer months we also try to provide Backyard Bible Clubs for children in our neighborhoods.
Greeters
We strive to have greeters at each door to meet everyone who is on their way to the worship service with a handshake and a smile. These people give first impressions of friendliness, acceptance, and love to members, attenders, and visitors alike.
Music Ministry
At Bethel, there are many ways that you are able to minister through music. We have children’s choirs, adult choirs, handbells, orchestra, and much more.
Nursery
As a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church, our desire is that the Cradle Club Nursery will be a blessing and an aid to both our church family and visitors while also ministering to children. Our hope is that our nursery will not only foster fellowship to parents but that it will also be a place of service. Those who work in the nurseries consider it a privilege to serve the Lord in this way.
Our nurseries provide care for children ages birth through 3 years of age. Opportunities to volunteer are available during all regular services as well as special services held through the year.
Pacific Garden Mission
Pacific Garden Missions, an historic ministry reaching out to the homeless of Chicago, offers many opportunities for ministry. These opportunities include bus driving, musical (keyboard, instrumental, or vocal), personal testimonies, praying, and counseling. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., a bus leaves to travel downtown to Chicago to do a complete service at the old PGM “Lighthouse.” Transportation is provided.
Sports Ministry for Children
Opportunities to serve include coaching, assistant coaching, umpiring, or refereeing.

Opportunities of service include preparing a plate of light refreshments and conversing with those visitors that come to the Center.

This welcoming team assists people into the worship service, hands out bulletins, collects the offerings, and assists the congregation with a variety of other needs during the services.
